Cookie Policy
ECG keeps non-essential analytics off until you allow it. This page explains the browser storage and third-party technologies that may be used.
Effective and last updated: July 15, 2026
1. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text records a website or provider can store in a browser. Local storage and session storage serve similar purposes without being sent with every web request. ECG uses these technologies for privacy choices, security, site measurement, and features you choose to use.
2. Categories used on this site
| Technology | Category | Examples | Purpose / duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Privacy choice | Necessary | Local storage: ecg_privacy_consent_v1 | Records necessary/analytics preference, date, and signal source; remains until cleared or replaced |
| First-party site analytics | Analytics | Local/session storage: ecg_visitor_id and ecg_session_id | Created only after permission; persistent visitor ID remains until browser storage is cleared, session ID ends with the browser session |
| Google Analytics through GTM | Analytics | Common examples include _ga and _ga_* | Created only after permission; duration is controlled by Google/configuration and may extend up to the provider-configured period |
| Embedded Vimeo or YouTube media | Functional / third-party | Provider cookies or storage may be created when a player is loaded or used | Controlled by the media provider and browser settings |
Exact names and durations can change when a provider updates its technology. ECG reviews the active configuration and updates this policy when practices materially change.
3. Consent and withdrawal
- Necessary storage is used to deliver the site, protect forms, and remember your privacy choice.
- ECG analytics and Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager remain off until you affirmatively allow analytics.
- Rejecting analytics does not reduce access to content or contact options.
- You can withdraw permission at any time; ECG then removes its analytics identifiers and accessible Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page without optional analytics.
Use Privacy Choices to see or change the current browser preference.
4. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
If the browser sends Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track, ECG treats the signal as a rejection of optional analytics on that browser. A GPC signal also functions as an opt-out of sale or sharing where applicable. The control remains disabled while the signal is active, even if an older browser preference allowed analytics.
5. Embedded media and external sites
Some portfolio pages use Vimeo or YouTube players. Those providers may receive device, network, and interaction information when their player is loaded or used and may set their own cookies or storage. External links and social platforms are governed by the third party's policy. Browser settings can block or delete third-party cookies, but doing so may affect playback or another feature you choose to use.
