Keeping this commercial quick and catchy was an important part of this project. We utilized subtle storytelling, as well as voiceover narration, to keep the message in focus and entertaining.

Why Quick, Relatable Storytelling Matters in Holiday Video Campaigns

Holiday marketing videos like Auntie Anne’s & Freeform | 25 Days of Pretzels prove that capturing attention fast is essential. With just seconds to engage, the video uses warm, festive visuals and subtle storytelling to evoke the cozy feeling of enjoying a pretzel and a holiday special. This approach ensures the message lands emotionally and memorably, not just as a product pitch. When planning your campaign, prioritize clear storytelling that resonates immediately with your target audience.

Planning Multiple Video Versions Before Production Starts

One finished video file won’t cover all your marketing needs. Auntie Anne’s campaign shows the value of planning for various deliverables upfront — from hero spots and social cutdowns to vertical crops and captioned versions for paid media. This foresight during pre-production and shoot planning saves time and money in post-production, ensuring your content fits every platform and use case without scrambling for last-minute edits.

Technical Craft: Using Motion Tracking and Specialty Camera Rigs to Enhance Storytelling

The Auntie Anne’s commercial packs technical polish into every frame. Motion tracking highlights the mobile app seamlessly, while a camera tilt acts as a smooth transition. The closing shot’s specialty rig provides a dynamic reveal that strengthens the story’s warmth and connection. These production techniques aren’t just showy—they support the narrative and keep viewers engaged. When budgeting and scheduling, allocate time for these technical elements that elevate your brand story.

Integrating Voiceover and Choreography for Pacing and Engagement

This campaign balances visuals with voiceover narration and well-timed choreography, keeping the pace brisk yet inviting. The voiceover guides the viewer through the story without overwhelming, while choreography adds energy and flow. For your video, consider how audio and movement can complement visuals to maintain viewer interest and reinforce your message.

Setting Clear Goals and Approval Paths to Measure Success

Before production begins, Auntie Anne’s team clarified who needed to care, what the video had to prove, and how success would be measured. Knowing the approval process and key stakeholders early avoids costly delays. Define your audience, message, distribution channels, and success metrics upfront. This clarity helps production partners like ECG align creative and technical decisions with your business goals.
