Murder, romance, and revenge combine to make one wicked book trailer!
We’d created a book promo for one of Kerri Maniscalco’s books before, so we knew we were in for a treat with this one! Set in coastal Italy, this book is filled with witches, hot demon princes, and steamy romance. Put this all together and the concept we came up with is sure to haunt you.
Once on set, Muriel Lee stepped in with props, costumes, and enough fake blood to fill a kiddie pool. Literally. Thankfully our actress was happy to dip her toe in the sticky red liquid, and also didn’t mind when we wanted to draw a pentagram on her back. Oh, and how could we forget the star of the promo, director Cameron Shaw’s abs? At this point, we’re not even surprised when he volunteers to show them off. For the art, right?
We then handed off the footage to our post-production team, where animator Seth Johnson worked his magic. His motion graphics really brought the trailer to life – er, would it be death? Either way, those shadow hands slithering down the actors sure do send chills down our spines!
