If you need to refresh your memory, read my original Content Survey post that runs down the concept and lists off the various categories.

Film

Best Dialogue: V for Vendetta

Not only is the dialogue in this movie great, the delivery is perfect.

Best Action: Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy cast

Loved this movie and I can’t wait for the next.

Best Emotional Connection With The Audience: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

This movie was everything I wanted from a movie in the Harry Potter Universe. The characters were real and grounded and I loved them.

Guilty Pleasure: No guilt just pleasure, Snakes on a Plane

Samuel L. Jackson is amazing and this movie was so bad good.

Guaranteed Tears: The Wind Rises

Something about this film always just pulls me right in and makes me so sad.

Movie You Feel Like You SHOULD Like, But You Don’t: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

I hate everything about Michael Cera, I have hated him for a long time and to be honest, I’m not sure why I hate him so much. but everyone loves it and says I should give it another go but I can’t get over his stupid face.

Movie You Hate Purely Out Of Spite: District 9

Just no.

All-Time Favorite: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

So much love for Studio Ghibli, Miyazaki is a god among men and this is my favorite of his works. If you want to you can head over to my other blog for some Studio Ghibli feels.

Television

Best Episodic Drama: Game of Thrones

This is such a deep and involved show that fans are still making theories. Diverging from the books, although risky, has paid off due to the shows continued popularity.

Best Comedy (Low Brow): Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

This show is so witty and awkward while cracking jokes about heavy boobs and urinary tract infections. If you want a small taste, check out my new favorite earworm I Give Good Parent.

Best Comedy (High Brow): Brooklyn Nine-Nine

This show is so impressive the characters are so well defined the writing is excellent and every episode is funny.

Best Reality/Contest: Cutthroat KitchenCutthroat Kitchen logo

Alton Brown makes this show amazing, the challenges are so ridiculous.

Comfort Food/Hangover Fodder: How I Met Your Mother/ Archer

I have watched episodes of both over and over.

Best Series Finale: Sex and the City

I’m usually not into the really girly dramas but Sex and the City got me pretty early into it’s 6 season run and the finale was perfection.

Lived Up To The Hype: Westworld.

Everyone at ECG has been talking about how good this show was since the first episode and they were not wrong. I just binge watched the whole first season around the end of December and it’s amazing.

Pressured Into Watching This And…Meh: Not as much pressured into, more like it just did not live up to the hype, Making a Murderer.

I loved Serial season 1, Sarah Koenig is an amazing storyteller. I didn’t feel the same connection with the story of Steven Avery, he may not have murdered Teresa Halbach but I feel less compelled to care than I did with Adnan Syed.

All-Time Favorite: This is so Difficult! I think I have to say Firefly.
