Project Write-Up

CHOA | 2021 Strong4Life Overview

The 2021 Strong4Life Board

In collaboration with the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), we embarked on a mission to encapsulate the remarkable efforts and achievements of the 2021 Strong4Life Board, their Child Advocacy branch. The objective was clear: to craft a piece that not only highlighted the numerous accomplishments but also resonated with the audience on a profound level.

Entrusted with the creative freedom to define the look and feel of the video, we were eager to bring the client's vision to life. The project was skillfully led by Anneli Brown, one of our talented staff animators, who brought a fresh and engaging perspective to the table.

Assisting with Post-Production

This venture was focused solely on post-production, utilizing a rich array of footage provided by the Strong4Life team. We were fortunate to have a plethora of incredible material at our disposal, including some segments we had filmed earlier in the year, which added a personal touch to the project.

To seamlessly tie together the diverse aspects of the organization within a limited timeframe, we employed a stylized starry night theme as a recurring transition element. This creative choice not only facilitated smooth transitions but also added a visually captivating dimension to the narrative, encapsulating the viewers in a journey through the stars as they witnessed the organization's milestones.

CHOA's 2021 End-Of-Year Board Meeting

The culmination of our efforts was unveiled at the 2021 Strong4Life Board's End-of-Year Board Meeting, where it was met with enthusiastic reception. This project stands as a testament to the synergy of collaboration and creativity, highlighting the remarkable strides made by the Child Advocacy branch in a year marked by challenges and triumphs.

ECG Productions is proud to have played a part in bringing this narrative to life, showcasing the resilience and dedication that defines the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Explore how the 2021 Strong4Life Overview video for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta was crafted to engage stakeholders through thoughtful strategy, creative post-production, and

Helps marketing and production teams decide how to shape a strategic overview video that connects with its audience and meets clear production goals.

Defining the Audience and Purpose Before Production

Every successful video begins with a clear understanding of who needs to care and what the video must prove. For the 2021 Strong4Life Overview, the primary audience was the board and stakeholders invested in child advocacy outcomes. Knowing this shaped the messaging to highlight achievements and foster pride. Before any production or editing, clarify the audience’s existing knowledge, emotional touchpoints, and the key takeaway you want them to leave with. This focus prevents scattered storytelling and guides every production decision from script to delivery.

Leveraging Existing Footage with Creative Post-Production

The Strong4Life video project was a post-production-driven effort, utilizing rich footage provided by the client. When working with existing assets, the challenge is to unify diverse material into a cohesive narrative. Here, a stylized starry night transition theme was introduced to weave together different segments smoothly and add visual interest. This approach shows how thoughtful editing and animation can elevate pre-shot content, making the story feel fresh and purposeful without reshoots.

Balancing Visual Style and Storytelling Impact

Choosing a visual motif like the starry night theme does more than beautify—it reinforces the story’s emotional arc. For CHOA, the motif symbolized hope and progress, aligning with their mission. When planning your video’s look and feel, consider how visual elements support the narrative tone and audience engagement. Avoid style for style’s sake; instead, use design to deepen understanding and keep viewers invested through pacing and transitions.

Planning Approvals and Deliverables for Smooth Production

Clear communication about who approves the video and what deliverables are required is crucial to avoid delays. For the Strong4Life Overview, the end-of-year board meeting was the key delivery event, setting a firm deadline and format expectations. Early alignment on review cycles, file formats, and distribution channels ensures the final product fits its intended use and reaches viewers effectively. This planning also helps production teams allocate resources wisely across editing, sound, and color grading.

Turning Strategy Into a Practical Production Brief

A strategic video idea becomes actionable when connected to real-world constraints: audience, deadline, assets, brand guidelines, and success criteria. The Strong4Life project exemplifies this by translating a broad mission into a focused brief that guided post-production choices. For your project, gather these details upfront to shape a production plan that’s efficient and impactful. Sharing references with notes on pacing, tone, and style helps your production partner understand your vision and deliver accordingly.
