HNTB | Recruitment Video

A Top-Tier Recruiting Video For A Top-Tier Firm

From script to screen, we forged new roads in the latest corporate recruitment video for infrastructure solutions firm, HNTB. Recently, HNTB signed a mega-deal with GDOT to oversee Georgia’s rapidly growing infrastructure. That means that HNTB needs talented people–and lots of them–to manage their projects. But lucky for them, they already had a talented team to help produce the recruitment video they need to fill these positions. Between our in-office interview footage and the top-tier highway footage we shot, we went above and beyond, like HNTB. In short, this recruitment video paved the way for an amazing influx of talent to HNTB. And with the recent I-85 incident, it was just in time, too!

Project Story

Learn how to create a recruitment video that clearly targets your audience, tells your story, and drives hiring success with practical production insights from ECG.

Helps marketing and HR teams decide how to plan and produce an effective recruitment video that resonates with the right candidates and meets business goals.

Start with a Clear Audience and Purpose

The foundation of any successful recruitment video is knowing exactly who you want to reach and what you want them to do. Are you targeting recent graduates, experienced professionals, or a specific skill set? Clarifying this upfront shapes your messaging, tone, and visuals. For example, a video aimed at engineers might focus on project impact and technical challenges, while one for entry-level hires might highlight culture and growth opportunities. This clarity prevents wasted production effort and ensures the final video speaks directly to your ideal candidates.

Turn Your Creative Idea into a Practical Production Plan

Once you have your audience and purpose, translate your creative concept into a detailed production brief. This includes identifying key messages, deciding on interview subjects, scripting voiceovers, and planning locations. Consider where the video will live—LinkedIn, your careers page, job fairs—and tailor length and format accordingly. Also define your approval process and timeline early to avoid delays. This stage bridges the gap between strategy and execution, setting clear expectations for everyone involved.

Invest in Production Quality That Reflects Your Brand

Recruitment videos represent your company to potential hires, so production value matters. High-quality visuals, clear audio, and professional editing convey credibility and care. For example, capturing authentic interviews in well-lit settings combined with dynamic B-roll of your workplace or projects can create an engaging narrative. Avoid overly generic stock footage unless it’s supplemented with original content that grounds the story in your brand. A polished video signals you’re serious about attracting top talent.

Plan for Efficient Post-Production and Approvals

Post-production is where your footage becomes a compelling story. Allocate time for editing, color correction, sound mixing, and adding graphics or subtitles. Establish a clear review process with stakeholders to gather feedback and finalize the video without endless revisions. Using collaborative tools can streamline approvals and keep everyone aligned. Remember, a well-managed post phase ensures your video launches on schedule and maintains the intended impact.

Measure Success and Plan Distribution Strategically

A recruitment video’s job isn’t done once it’s live. Define how you’ll measure success—views, engagement, application rates—and use those insights to refine future content. Distribute your video where your target candidates spend time, whether that’s social media, job boards, or internal communications. Consider embedding it in email campaigns or career pages to maximize exposure. Strategic distribution ensures your investment reaches and motivates the right people.

Project Story

HNTB | Recruitment Video is about the story behind the work.

HNTB | Recruitment Video works best as a real production reference when the page makes the audience, purpose, production choices, and final use case easy to understand. The value is not the category label; it is the story of why this kind of work exists and what a client can learn from it.

Story Read

Make the corporate video feel specific.

Higher-ed video has to make an institution feel credible, alive, and specific before the viewer has time to drift.

Production Reality

Protect the choices that shape the result.

The video gives prospects, stakeholders, and admissions teams something concrete to react to. For similar work, the production plan has to align campus credibility, admissions priorities, real people, and a finished spot that can work across web, paid, event, and social placements.

Where It Leads

Start with the context behind the ask.

For a similar conversation, start with the audience, deliverables, where the finished video has to work, and how Corporate Video Production connects to the story the brand or client is trying to tell.

Project Context

What a higher-ed recruiting commercial needs to prove.

HNTB | Recruitment Video is useful because recruitment work has to earn trust fast. A school spot needs to feel credible, active, and specific enough that prospective students or families can picture the opportunity without getting buried in institutional language. The finished video becomes the proof point, but the real value is in the strategy, audience choices, production plan, and edit decisions behind it.

Audience Fit

A recruiting commercial has to do more than show campus beauty. It needs to make the school feel active, credible, and worth considering quickly.

Message Clarity

The project is a useful reference for higher-ed marketing teams that need a concise message, clear audience focus, and a finished spot that can live across admissions, web, and campaign use.

Staff Context

The recruiting priority, audience, campus access, story angle, deliverables, usage, and approval path all shape the production plan.
