Project Write-Up

Taylor English | Law Firm Overview Video Production

Law Firm Overview Video Production and Post Production Services

The production portion of this Taylor English project was fairly straightforward: interview setup, nice even lighting of the background, shallow depth of field and clean audio. The real finesse for this project was required from the producers on set and in post. As any good producer knows, there is an art to conducting a great interview and getting the subject to not only answer the questions, but do it in a comfortable, sincere way that will connect with the viewer of the completed video. As any good editor knows, it takes skill to make what is essentially a talking-head piece engaging. The chief goal of this piece is to allow viewers to see who the lawyers at Taylor English really are, so that they can relate to them on a human level rather than just ticking off a list of talking points. Content was shot in ECG’s in-house studio on the Blackmagic Production Camera 4K. The choice to keep the graphics and background simple allows the viewer to focus on the most important part of the video: the humanity of Taylor English as a company. It’s often easy to reach into the toolbox and create complex graphics and effects simply because we have the capabilities in house to create so many things. However it’s important to know when to keep it simple; to strip a video down to its most vital components and let the talent and their passion do the talking. Project Story

Discover how to plan and produce an effective law firm overview video like Taylor English’s, focusing on audience connection, production choices, and strategic distribution for

Helps marketing and production teams decide how to strategically plan and produce a law firm overview video that truly connects with its audience and meets campaign goals.

Why a Law Firm Overview Video Needs a Clear Strategy

Producing a law firm overview video isn’t just about capturing talking heads—it’s about crafting a story that humanizes the firm and resonates with the right audience. Before any cameras roll, your team must answer key questions: Who needs to care about this video? What do they already know about the firm? What proof or messages must the video deliver? And where will the video live—website, social media, or sales presentations? These answers shape everything from interview style to pacing and post-production choices, ensuring the finished video earns attention rather than just filling space.

Pre-Production Planning: Setting the Stage for Success

Pre-production is where the foundation is laid. For Taylor English, this meant deciding on a simple, clean look that keeps the focus on the lawyers’ personalities rather than flashy graphics. Planning also includes scheduling interviews, prepping questions that encourage sincere, relatable answers, and mapping out multiple versions of the video for different platforms. Think hero videos, social cutdowns, vertical formats, and captioned versions. This upfront planning saves time and money later and ensures every version supports your overall marketing goals.

Production: Capturing Authenticity with Technical Precision

On set, the goal is to create a comfortable environment where interviewees can be themselves. For Taylor English, that meant even, flattering lighting, a shallow depth of field to isolate subjects, and clean, clear audio. Using high-quality cameras like the Blackmagic Production Camera 4K ensures sharp, professional visuals. But the real skill lies in the producer’s ability to guide the conversation so the lawyers share stories and insights that feel genuine—not scripted—making the firm approachable and trustworthy.

Post-Production: Editing for Engagement and Clarity

Editing a law firm overview video requires balancing professionalism with warmth. The Taylor English edit kept graphics minimal to avoid distraction, letting the lawyers’ voices and expressions carry the story. Editors work to maintain a natural flow, cutting out pauses or stumbles without losing authenticity. Color grading enhances the clean, polished look, while sound editing ensures clarity and consistency. The final video should feel like a conversation, not a commercial, inviting viewers to connect on a human level.

Distribution and Measuring Success

A finished video is just the start. Plan where and how the video will be distributed—website homepage, social channels, email campaigns, or client presentations—and tailor versions accordingly. Use captions for social media, shorter cuts for paid ads, and full-length for internal or sales use. Track engagement metrics like views, shares, and click-throughs to evaluate impact. Regularly revisit the video’s performance and be ready to update or repurpose assets to keep the story fresh and relevant.
