For Season 7 of Masters of the Game, we produced, shot, edited, and finished the show for theGrio.
This is the kind of series work we love most: clean production, strong conversations, disciplined post, and a final product that feels polished from episode to episode without losing the personality of the guest in front of the camera.
Masters of the Game is built around one-on-one conversations with influential voices across business, culture, entertainment, and leadership, with Natasha S. Alford hosting the current run. Recent episodes have featured guests including Dr. Bernice A. King, Kandi Burruss, Fawn Weaver, Pinky Cole, Carla Hall, and Bernard & Shirley Kinsey.
What that means for us on the production side is simple: every episode has to feel elevated, but never overworked. The format depends on presence, trust, rhythm, and clarity. When the guest carries real weight, the production has to know when to stay out of the way and when to sharpen the moment.
That was our job across the season.
We handled the full production path from capture through finish. On set, that meant building a visual environment that felt composed, confident, and broadcast-ready. In the edit, it meant shaping each conversation into an episode with momentum and structure. In finishing, it meant making sure the season held together as a body of work — consistent in quality, consistent in tone, and strong enough to serve the show, the network, and the audience every time.
Season work always asks for more than one great shoot day. It asks for repeatable quality. It asks for a system. It asks for a team that can protect the format while still making space for each guest to feel distinct.
That is what we’re proud of here.
Some episodes call for more gravity. Some need more warmth. Some lean into legacy. Some lean into entrepreneurship, creativity, or cultural insight. Our role was to help each of those conversations land on screen without flattening them into the same editorial shape. The series needed cohesion, but it also needed range.
This project is also a strong example of how we like to work with long-form, conversation-driven content. We are not just there to make it look good. We are there to help the format hold. That means thoughtful framing, lighting that feels intentional without becoming distracting, coverage that gives post real flexibility, and an editorial pace that respects the guest while still keeping the episode moving.
By the time an episode is finished, the work should feel effortless. But the process behind that is anything but casual. It takes planning, consistency, and a team that knows how to carry a show all the way through.
That is exactly what this season required.
The result is a season of television that feels clear, premium, and built for real-world delivery — a conversation format with enough visual discipline and editorial control to feel complete every time it airs.
And for us, that is what makes Masters of the Game such a meaningful portfolio piece. It shows the full range of what we can do when we are trusted with the whole season: produce it, shoot it, shape it, finish it, and deliver it at the level the format deserves.
theGrio is a Black-focused media brand owned by Allen Media Group, and Masters of the Game sits naturally inside that broader editorial space of culture, leadership, and influential voices.
