Project Write-Up

Resurgens Orthopaedics | I Am A Champion

Never forget: champions are defined by more than trophies.

Crafting our inspiring and unique "I Am A Champion" TV commercial for our friends at Resurgens Orthopaedics was an awesome challenge for our team. Telling a compelling story in just a thirty second tv spot is tough. However, it’s even tougher with a pressing deadline and limited resources to produce kick-ass commercial from script-to-screen. But, like the characters in this tv spot, we kept pushing and delivered. Working in conjunction with Brain Bytes Creative, we developed this spot in the spirit of perseverance. Shot on our Ursa Mini Pro at 5 different locations over the course of 4 days, we executed with speed and precision. Then, our talented post-production team went to work! It took some long hours, as well as some nitpicking, but we couldn’t be happier with the results. With a commercial that’s both narratively compelling and visually rich, we feel like we are the champs! Client: Resurgens OrthopaedicsProfile: TV Commercial

Project Story

Discover practical video production strategies from Resurgens Orthopaedics’ “I Am A Champion” commercial to help you plan, shoot, and deliver a compelling healthcare marketing

Helps healthcare marketers and producers decide how to plan and execute a powerful, multi-platform commercial that truly engages the target audience.

Why Your Healthcare Commercial Needs a Clear Purpose Before Production

Every successful healthcare commercial starts with a clear understanding of who needs to care and why. Before you write a script or book a shoot, define your target audience’s mindset, what they already know about your brand, and the key message your video must prove. For Resurgens Orthopaedics’ “I Am A Champion,” the goal was to inspire perseverance and connection in just 30 seconds — a tall order that demanded laser focus on emotional tone and narrative clarity. This upfront strategy ensures every production decision supports your ultimate marketing objective.

Planning Versions and Deliverables Early Saves Time and Budget

One of the biggest production pitfalls is treating your commercial as a single finished file. Today’s campaigns require multiple versions: hero spots, social cutdowns, vertical formats for mobile, captioned versions for silent autoplay, and thumbnails optimized for click-through. Planning these deliverables during pre-production — not after the shoot — lets the crew capture the right coverage and frame compositions efficiently. For “I Am A Champion,” ECG planned for five different location shoots and multiple edits upfront, enabling a smooth post-production workflow and faster delivery.

Production Execution: Balancing Speed, Quality, and Storytelling

Shooting a compelling healthcare commercial under tight deadlines demands precision and flexibility. Using high-quality cameras like the Ursa Mini Pro, the ECG team captured rich visuals across diverse settings in just four days. The key was maintaining narrative momentum while adapting to location constraints and time pressures. This balance between speed and quality is essential for healthcare brands that need to launch campaigns quickly without sacrificing emotional impact or brand integrity.

Post-Production: The Craft of Visual and Audio Refinement

Post-production is where your commercial truly comes to life. For “I Am A Champion,” ECG’s editors and colorists worked long hours refining pacing, color grading, and sound design to heighten emotional resonance. Nitpicking details like audio levels, transitions, and graphic overlays ensures the final spot feels polished and professional. Don’t underestimate the power of sound and color to reinforce your story — these elements often make the difference between a good video and a great one.

Distribution and Approval: Aligning Stakeholders and Maximizing Reach

A commercial’s impact depends on where and how it’s seen. Early conversations about distribution channels — TV, social media, paid ads, or internal communications — inform format and length decisions. Equally important is clarifying the approval process: who signs off, what feedback cycles look like, and how to handle revisions efficiently. ECG’s collaborative approach ensures all stakeholders are aligned from concept to delivery, reducing surprises and accelerating time to market.
