ECG Productions | 2018 Show Reel

Welcome to Engaging, Entertaining, Exciting Content

You know, we don’t like to brag. Ok, maybe a bit, but only when we really deserve it. Our 2018 Show Reel has been a long time coming, and we’re ecstatic to finally share it! In the reel, you follow world champion free-runner, (and Captain America: Civil War’s Spider-man stuntman!) Marvin Ross, on a high-octane journey through all our best in-house work. From productions, to mind-blowing animations, to post-production wizardry, he parkours through it all.

Our services run the gamut at ECG Productions. And we needed a reel to reflect our diverse array of talents. We didn’t do it alone though! In this business, collaborating with others is just as important as making it on your own. We worked with LensHead Media and Reelmind Studios to get the best cameras and equipment for the job. Ascend Aerials used heavy duty drones to help capture those incredible high-flying shots. This reel is the story of us, and we couldn’t be happier to tell it!

Project Story

Discover practical video production strategy lessons from ECG Productions’ 2018 Show Reel to help you define audience, scope, budget, and deliverables for smarter video projects.

Helps marketing and production teams decide how to scope and plan video projects effectively before budgeting and production begin.

Why Defining Scope Early Saves Your Video Budget

Video production budgets are only as reliable as the scope they’re based on. ECG’s 2018 Show Reel highlights how understanding your audience, deliverables, deadlines, locations, talent, crew size, and post-production needs upfront shapes your costs. For example, a simple interview requires far less crew and editing than a multi-location commercial or a campaign with multiple cutdowns. When you clarify these details early, you protect your budget from unexpected changes and scope creep.

What to Bring to Your First Production Conversation

Your initial call with a production partner sets the tone for the entire project. Come prepared with your video’s goal, target audience, must-have assets, sample references, deadline, and distribution plans. Sharing these helps ECG recommend the right service path—whether it’s a straightforward shoot, animation, or a complex campaign—and match you with relevant portfolio examples. This clarity prevents guesswork and speeds up accurate budgeting.

Using References to Sharpen Your Video’s Vision

References are powerful tools when they come with notes. Instead of just sharing a video you like, point out specifics: pacing, tone, visual style, animation level, sound design, or call-to-action elements that resonate with your goals. Also highlight what doesn’t work for you. This contrast helps production teams understand your vision faster and tailor their approach to your needs, saving time and resources in revisions.

Collaborating with Specialists to Elevate Production Value

ECG’s 2018 Show Reel showcases collaboration with specialists like LensHead Media for camera equipment and Ascend Aerials for drone shots. Partnering with experts ensures your production uses the right tools and techniques for the best results. Discussing these partnerships early can influence your shoot plan, crew size, and budget, so include these considerations in your pre-production planning.

Next Steps: Turning Your Video Idea into a Production Plan

Bring your project’s goal, audience profile, deadline, existing assets, brand guidelines, and required deliverables to your first meeting with ECG. This information allows the team to connect your idea to the appropriate production services, plan the shoot and post-production workflow, and provide relevant portfolio examples. Clear communication at this stage leads to smarter decisions, smoother approvals, and a finished video that meets your expectations—not just a completed project.
