Project Write-Up

Coors Light & The Atlanta Braves | Everyone Can

What happens when beer and baseball meets art?

Seriously guys: is there anything better than beer & baseball? Since ECG HQ is just 5 minutes from Truist Park, the new home of the Atlanta Braves, we know both things pretty well. Arguably too well… Regardless, we were excited to team up with PR firm Olson Engage to shoot a hyperlapse video for an art install inside the Braves’ stadium. Made completely from Coors Light cans, local artist Kaylin Broussard’s interpretation of the iconic Atlanta Braves “A” is a grand slam! And using our trusted Sony a7s ii and motorized hyperlapse track, this video makes for a walk-off win. Client: Coors Light & Atlanta Braves | Profile: Branded Content, Commercial Video

Project Story

Explore how Coors Light and the Atlanta Braves teamed up on a standout branded content piece, with practical production insights on strategy, filming, and post-production.

Help readers understand how to translate a creative concept into a clear, actionable production plan for branded content campaigns.

Turning a Creative Spark into a Production Plan

When Coors Light partnered with the Atlanta Braves to celebrate local culture through art, the production challenge was clear: transform a unique creative idea into a video that resonates with fans and viewers. The project centered on an art installation made entirely from Coors Light cans, shaped into the iconic Atlanta Braves “A.” To make this vision come alive on screen, the production team needed to align the creative concept with the audience’s expectations, the brand’s messaging, and the technical realities of filming inside a stadium environment.

Strategic Pre-Production: Defining Audience, Deliverables, and Approvals

Before filming began, the project’s success hinged on answering practical questions: Who is the target audience? What story does the video need to tell? Where will it be distributed? Who signs off on the final cut? Defining these parameters early helped the team set realistic deadlines, plan for the right production gear, and establish a review process that kept the project on track. This stage also included securing permissions for filming inside Truist Park and coordinating with the artist and brand representatives to ensure the installation’s visual integrity was captured authentically.

Production Techniques: Capturing the Art with Precision and Style

Shooting the hyperlapse video required specialized equipment and techniques. Using a Sony a7S II paired with a motorized hyperlapse track allowed the crew to create smooth, dynamic movement around the installation, highlighting the intricate details of the Coors Light can sculpture. Filming inside a stadium presented lighting challenges, which were addressed by balancing natural and artificial light sources to maintain consistent exposure and color accuracy. The production team’s attention to pacing and framing ensured the final video felt engaging and premium, matching both the brand’s and the Atlanta Braves’ elevated standards.

Post-Production: Polishing Visuals and Sound for Maximum Impact

In post-production, the footage was carefully color graded to enhance the metallic sheen of the cans and the stadium’s atmosphere without oversaturating the brand colors. Sound design was subtle but purposeful, incorporating ambient stadium noises and a clean music track that supported the video’s upbeat tone. The edit focused on pacing that kept viewers engaged from start to finish, with smooth transitions that mirrored the hyperlapse movement. Final delivery formats were tailored for digital platforms, ensuring optimal playback on social media, brand websites, and in-stadium displays.

Lessons for Your Branded Content Production

This collaboration between Coors Light and the Atlanta Braves underscores the importance of connecting creative ideas to concrete production realities. Start with a clear brief that identifies your audience, story goals, and deliverables. Use the right gear and techniques to capture your subject authentically, especially when working in unique environments like sports venues. Finally, invest in post-production to refine your visuals and sound, ensuring your finished piece feels polished and purposeful. When these elements align, your branded content can hit a home run.

FAQ

What is a hyperlapse, and why was it used in this video?

A hyperlapse is a time-lapse technique that involves moving the camera over considerable distances between shots to create dynamic motion. In this project, it was used to smoothly showcase the Coors Light can sculpture from multiple angles, adding energy and visual interest to the video.

How do you plan approvals for branded content involving multiple stakeholders?

Planning approvals involves identifying all decision-makers early, setting clear review deadlines, and establishing a structured feedback process. This ensures everyone—from the brand to creative partners—can provide input without delaying the production timeline.

What are key considerations when filming inside a sports stadium?

Filming inside a stadium requires managing lighting variations, obtaining location permissions, coordinating with venue staff, and planning for potential crowd or event interruptions. Pre-production planning is critical to address these logistical challenges.
